Born and raised in Mexico City, Marlon grew up watching movies, especially in the superhero genre, which made him fall in love with film. In middle school, he started producing films with friends. Marlon then joined the A/ V Production class in high school, allowing him to polish his videography, photography, and storytelling skills.
While at UT, Marlon has made several award-winning short films and music videos under his production company, MXR Films. Some of his accolades include Best Music Video at the 2021 College Filmmakers Film Festival for “Port Isabel” or the Best Student Short Film at the 2023 Hispanic Film Festival for his short film, "I'm New."
